What is everyone opinion on ear piercing for babys?

My daughter is 2 1/2 months old she will be 3 months march 12 and i really want to get her ears pierced, i want to know what everyones opinions are, i know this is a personal choice but i just want to see what everyone else thinks, or what age, and if u would suggest needle or gun?? We are in canada so i dont believe ther is any age regulation. My Dr said it was fine, and up to me and my husband

I am all for piercing your daughter's ears. I have yet to meet a female who grew up and got mad at her parents for piercing their ears! And in all honesty, I just think all little girls should have their ears pierced. That's just my personal opinion. My daughter is 6 weeks now but my dr said I can pierce it anytime from 6 weeks. And my dr does it in her office. My mother did mine at 6 weeks and I've never had a problem. I'm going to wait until her 2 month shots to do it. As for the needle or gun, I took my goddaughter at 2 months to pierce her ears (I'm also in Canada). I took her to People's jewellers (in the mall) and they used the gun, and 2 girls did it at the same time so that it was done very quickly. She cried for maybe a minute after it was done, and right after, she was perfectly happy again and never irritated it after that. I think your daughter is at a great age to do it because she won't play with it during the healing process and by the time she can get into the ear pulling or things like that, it will already be healed and done. I think waiting until they're older is worse because then they really feel (and remember) the pain as opposed to when they are a very small infant.
