PC or Mac - which is better for Professional Audio Recording and Editing?

I am not looking at price or fan-boy comments.

I'm looking for actual input towards the products. I've done the job with Pc products which were very unreliable, they were probably a bit old.

So the dilemma is this... Should i build a better system for the job? or should i consider a Mac Pro?

Well apple is more geared towards multimedia development. Plus there new operating system is very stable and easy to navigate and organize. I do some multimedia work, and macs have never given me any problems. I use my PC for more office development.
