How can i fix the volume control on my hp Laptop?

i have an hp pavilion laptop that has a volume touch control on it, it works fine when i use it in quickplay and the Dvd Player, but when i use it for anything else like youtube or itunes it freezes my computer. What's wrong with it and how can i fix it? (Please do not tell me that i can use the volume control on the task bar thing on the bottom) thanks!

that happened to my laptop too. go to hp website, then go to the support page. choose your laptop model, then look for the drivers for those buttons, i think theyre called hid. download them, install them, then restart the computer and they should work fine. if you cant find the driver, type in the search something like hid touch, or volume touch and youll find it.
